What a great time at Ka Puna Wai Ola! It seemed like we were more blessed than the guests, but they were blessed too! Char, who works there said it was great to see the residents talking so much. One lady who Char pointed out said "she never really talks" but you see her talking to one of the students (Race). We were so proud of each and everyone of the students who took time out of their Sunday to spend with our friends at Ka Puna Wai Ola! As we sang Christmas Carols one of the ladies started crying. Praise God! Here are some photos. We aren't allowed to take photos of any of our friends there unfortunately.

Harvest Fest - October 31, 2012
Harvest Fest was in the Hawaiian Homestead area in Kapolei. The community had a great time playing games, winning candy, and eating food. There was even a dunking booth which Pastor Dave got dunked!

A Thought From Last Sunday
I pray everyone is doing well! Jesus loves us! Don't forget that! Keep Ricky in prayer as he wasn't feeling well yesterday. Last Sunday Pastor Dave asked "if you were on trial and accused of not being a Christian and had to provide evidence to support you were a Christian what would the evidence show?" In our small group girls discussion the answers quickly came about:
"I read my Bible."
"I pray."
"I come to church."
"I know Jesus"
But then we asked "What about how you love & treat other people?" It became quite. Do we talk stink about others or gossip? Do we exclude people that are hard to love? Do we hold grudges against people that are mean to us? If someone wrongs us do we try to get them back? If someone is sick, we avoid praying for them? If someone is doing something wrong, do we ignore it? Are we trying to please God or ourselves? The other question is "Does Jesus know you?" That's what really matters.
It's not enough just to come to church, pray, read our Bible---if we are not living out God's Word then we are just 'hearers' of the word and not 'doers.' It is one thing to know God's Word--even the devil knows God's Word. If we say we believe in God's Word, lets live it and apply it in our everyday lives!
Challenge for this week: If the Holy Spirit has convicted you, live out God's Word this week with the help of the Holy Spirit!
See you Sunday! <3 Pastor Jan

Ka Puna Wai Ola Outreach-August 26, 2012
Thank you everyone who came to love on the precious residents at Ka Puna Wai Ola (elderly home). They always ask 'when are you coming back again!?' Some residents cried again because they were so touched that young people care about them! We sang songs as a group, played memory cards with them and talked story. There are always great stories they share! Here are photos of those who shared their gifts & talents to bless them. We were not permitted to take photos with the residents.
